Open your micro-entrepreneur business in France in a few days

A step-by-step video guide in Ukrainian that takes you from zero to an official entrepreneur status — no lawyers, no need to speak French, no red tape.

The guide itself (videos and text) is written and recorded in Ukrainian. This page is translated into English so you can see what is inside.

Sound familiar?

Every one of these points is money and time lost

  • You want to earn legally, but everything is in French — whichever site you open, it is either unclear or contradictory.

  • You are afraid of spending €300–500 on a lawyer and then finding out you picked the wrong activity code or filled in the application wrongly.

  • You click through government websites afraid of making a mistake — because nobody will explain how to fix it afterwards.

  • You already have clients or an idea — but you cannot officially accept payments. You either turn work down or take a risk.

  • You dream of an entrepreneur titre de séjour — but you do not know how to link a micro-business to getting a residence permit.

  • You have been putting it off for months because it seems complicated. And every extra week in a quarter is months of the ACRE benefit you lose.

The solution

A step-by-step video guide from someone who has already walked this path

Dana Shkin

Hi! I am Dana, a micro-entrepreneur in France since 2023. I recorded the videos while opening my own micro-business.

In 2024 I worked as a social worker for Ukrainians (administrative questions) in France at Coallia, a French association that helps vulnerable people.

I know how hard it is to make sense of French bureaucracy, which is why I talk about it on TikTok (7K followers) and Instagram (4.3K). In consultations I have helped more than a hundred people open a micro-entrepreneur business.

My mission is to help you start your own business in France without unnecessary complications, which is why I created a video guide with step-by-step instructions!

What is in the guide

  • Video of every step — you see the real screen
  • Written support — links to the official government sites
  • Document templates — the letters in French are already written
  • A full translation of the official entrepreneur's guide into Ukrainian
  • Up to date for 2026 — new ACRE rates, VAT thresholds, CFE
  • Instant access — right after payment

Who it is for

This guide is for you if...

  • You are Ukrainian and live in France

With temporary or subsidiary protection, and you want to work legally for yourself.

  • You have an idea or already have clients

Freelance, services, trade, info-business — you need an official status to accept payments.

  • You want a titre de séjour

A micro-business is a real route to the “entrepreneur / profession libérale” residence permit.

  • You are starting from zero

You have never had a business and do not know the system — the guide takes you from the first step.

  • You value your time

You do not want to spend weeks digging through forums. You want to get it all done in a few days.

  • You want to save money

A lawyer starts at €150/hour. The guide gives you the same information from official sources for €80.

Titre de séjour

A micro-business — the road to a residence permit

If you currently have temporary protection, one of the real routes to a permanent status is the titre de séjour “entrepreneur / profession libérale”.

The main condition is a turnover of at least:

€1,867.02 / month

* The minimum wage (SMIC, gross) since 1 June 2026. This is turnover, not net income.

That is why it matters to open your micro-business as early as possible — to build up turnover and have documentary proof of your activity for the Prefecture. Step 11 of the guide is entirely devoted to this.

Status

What the micro-entrepreneur status gives you

ACRE · 2026 rules · URSSAF

−25% on contributions

ACRE is a benefit for new entrepreneurs. Since 1 July 2026 it gives a 25% reduction on social contributions (it used to be 50%). The benefit is not applied automatically: you have to apply within 60 days of opening — through your URSSAF online account or by registered letter. How to do it and which documents to attach is in Step 4 of the guide.

Without ACRE

21.2%

social contributions on turnover

With ACRE

15.9%

contributions instead of 21.2%

25% saving

* Example for BIC services. Source: service-public.fr

ACRE is not for everyone. To get the benefit you must meet one of these conditions: ARE / ASP recipient · job seeker (6+ months at France Travail) · RSA/ASS recipient · aged 18–25 (up to 29 with a disability) · under 30 without ARE · or opening in a QPV / ZFRR. You must apply yourself to URSSAF — it is not automatic!

How are quarters counted, and when is it best to register?

ACRE applies until the end of the 3rd calendar quarter after the quarter you registered in.

Calendar quarters:

  • Q1Jan–Mar
  • Q2Apr–Jun
  • Q3Jul–Sep
  • Q4Oct–Dec
  • Q1Registered on 1 January (start of Q1)

    ACRE until 31 December

    12 months — the maximum!

  • Q1Registered on 20 February (end of Q1)

    ACRE until 31 December

    Only ~10 months — a loss!

  • Q2Registered on 1 April (start of Q2)

ACRE until 31 March of the following year

    12 months — the maximum!

  • Q2Registered on 3 June (end of Q2)

ACRE until 31 March of the following year

    Only 10 months — a loss!

Takeaway: register at the start of a quarter (1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October) — then the benefit lasts a full 12 months. And apply for ACRE right after registering: the deadline is 60 days.

Your ACRE application is filed — you pay 25% less in social contributions in the first year.

  • Correct declarations

You file on time — no fines, no delays, no panic.

The difference

Why this guide is not just another article from the internet

  • Recorded in real time: the videos were filmed during my own registration. The real screen, real fields, real buttons — nothing staged.

  • Official sources: information from the official government portals. Every step comes with a link to the government portal.

  • All in Ukrainian: no need to google a translation. The terms are laid out clearly, and the templates are already in French.

  • A full translation of the official entrepreneur's guide: 14 chapters on contributions, VAT, pension, CFE, closing the micro-business — in Ukrainian.

  • Up-to-date 2026 data: new ACRE rates, the VAT thresholds changed since 2025, updated turnover ceilings.

  • Two formats: video to see it done + text with links for those who want it fast or want to come back to a step.

Doubts

Maybe you are thinking...

  • “I do not speak French — how will I manage?”

The whole guide is in Ukrainian. The letter templates in French are already written — you only add your name. Many participants do not speak French at all and still registered successfully.

  • “I am afraid of making a mistake when registering”

That is exactly what the guide is for. You are not guessing — you see a video of every button. Common mistakes are covered at every step. And if you get stuck, you can book a consultation.

  • “It will take a lot of time”

Registration takes just a few minutes on the government site. With the guide you will go through the whole process in a few days, repeating the steps from the videos.

  • “€80 is expensive”

A lawyer's consultation in France costs €150 to €400+ an hour. For €80 you get the full 14-step instructions, videos, templates, a translation of the official URSSAF guide and information about the titre de séjour. A single mistake in the activity code can cost you far more.

  • “Is it suitable for temporary protection?”

Yes. The APS remains valid for registering as a micro-entrepreneur in 2026. Step 8 is made specially for OFII. Step 11 is the move to an entrepreneur titre de séjour.

Is it hard to work for yourself in a foreign country with no financial cushion and no investment? It isn’t easy. But if you love what you do with all your heart, the Universe will guide and help you. You will meet the right, good people along the way. You will feel some invisible support and confidence.

Philosophy aside, you can find your place even abroad. Even without a local education or diploma. What matters is the will, confidence in your knowledge and skills and, of course, love for your work. Everything else can be learned, found out and earned.

By the way, I bought a guide on running a micro-enterprise from this lovely person, @dana.in.fr, and I’m very glad I did. If you can’t figure out the fine points, I highly recommend it. Everything is clear and chewed over as if for children, in Ukrainian. Thank you so much for the wonderful guide.

Who it is not for

This guide is NOT for you if...

  • Your turnover already exceeds €203,100 (sales) or €83,600 (services) — you need a different legal form
  • You plan to hire employees — a micro-entrepreneur is not the best form for that
  • Your activity requires a licence (medicine, law, architecture)
  • You are looking for a company structure with shares and complex governance

Do not fit any of these? Then this guide is just for you.
